Description

I have never slept. When I was a little kid I was up, all hours of the night, and during the day I'd either sleep in really late when possible or be so tired.

Since I've become an adult I thought that this sleep problem would get better. It hasn't. I still find it difficult to fall asleep before 4-5 am, and getting up and staying awake during the day is difficult... and having a 4 year old makes this a serious problem.

I could have 3 alarm clocks, the fire alarm, and the carbon monoxide detector going off right in my ear, and I'd still not wake up. (Thank God I live with my parents, and they are able to wake me up after a few unsuccessful attempts)

I've been labeled an insomniac, a night owl, crazy (lol), etc... But never really looked into my sleep problem.

I'm going to be going to a sleep clinic, in which my doctor believes I may have (Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder)

It feels really good to know that all of the problems I have are probably from this. I'm happy because once you find out the cause you can start to work on finding something to fix it.

(I know I just rambled on, but I find it hard to think anyone has read this far anyways lol)

Have a wonderful day/morning, afternoon, evening, or night!!

I see it over and over again, we are limited by our own beliefs. If you believe what you wrote down here, that sleep is for babies, old people and wussies, you may have located the problem already. Belief is powerful indeed, and what once may have been useful for dealing with a certain situation turns into a habit that perpetuates the symptom. But we are not bound to keep our thoughts about ourselves, though we will not let them go, unless we see that we do not want what we seem to get from our investment in them....

Thanks for the fave, by the way.
